Alpine Shutters and Window Fashions
(ASWF) has its humble beginnings in the bedroom of an ordinary family home in Sunland, CA. In this room a young man decided to follow in his dad's footsteps and get into the shutter industry.
At this time, in 1978, plantation shutters were just emerging as a common window covering option for homeowners. While his dad was involved in the manufacturing of the shutters, the young man decided to go a different way and learn how to install the shutters.
Through perseverance and hard work, Alpine Shutters began to grow into a full service shutter provider for many companies in the Southern California region. By teaching others his skills, Alpine became a trusted and dependable resource for shutter installations. While installation was the main source of business, friends and acquaintances began to ask to buy directly from Alpine Shutter, Inc.
Over time, Alpine move into a large facility on Tuxford Street in Sun Valley, California. This move allowed Alpine to continue to blossom in installation accounts and begin to provide shutters to other customers as the opportunity arose.
During the economic transition of the late 1980's and early 90's Alpine downsized in order to remain flexible and competitive during some difficult years.
In the early 1990's, as the economy turned around,
Alpine Shutters and Window Fashions
reamerged to begin selling directly to the public and service primarily individual homeowerns, while still keeping their loyal base of designers and others.
In 1995, another young man entered the company and began to learn many of the important aspects of running a company and making customer satisfaction priority number one. In that same year, Alpine opened a retail showroom location on Olive Ave. in Burbank, CA. As people began rebuilding and remodeling from the Northridge earthquake of '94 and general economic forces turned positive, Alpine began to grow rapidly in the Southern California region. As the 90's came to a close it was time for the founder to turn the company over to that same young man he had mentored since 1995. During the early 2000's Alpine moved several times in order to keep up with the increasing popularity of plantation shutters and the continued trust our clients put into
Alpine Shutters and Window Fashions. As a long term answer to our needs, Alpine Shutters and window fashions is moving into a twenty thousand square foot state of the are manufacturing facility in Santa Clarita, CA.
Moving day should come in late 2005 or early 2006. We will be sure to have a grand opening event and we hope to see you then.
